There are a variety of ways to lead a D-Group but the most import thing is the intentionality to grow with God and with others. It's applicable lessons, practical steps of accountability, open conversation and a safe place to process. Gather a small group of you plus 2-3 others, set a time you can be faithful to and intentional with, then make a plan for what you want to discuss.
